When you first signup for Envato Hosted, you are given a temporary URL that is not indexed by search engines, so is private and can only be seen by you and anyone you share the url with. This temporary url is an auto-generated ID or your domain name followed by envatohostedview.com.
Only when you have pointed or transferred your domain will your suite be live and reachable by the general public and search engine traffic.
If your site is already live and you need to close it off for staging, maintenance, etc, we recommend using a maintenance mode plugin.
- Go to Plugins > Add New
- Search for Minimal Coming Soon
- Install and activate
The Minimal Coming Soon and Maintenance Mode plugin is one of many, but is recommended for its simplicity and ease of setup. You may customize and enable/disable it by clicking the Maintenance Mode tab in your admin bar.
These plugins will display a single page with your chosen image and logo and a short message (along with any other elements you shoose to display such as a countdown or email form) to anyone who is not logged in as an administrator. You will be able to continue to see and work on your site normally. Don't forget to disable it when you're done!
